FAIRFAX, Va. – The Patriots will host two games against the Limestone University Saints this weekend on Friday and Saturday in the RAC.
- Friday, Mar. 10th at 7:00 P.M.
- Saturday Mar. 11th at 3:00 P.M.
The Patriots have won three games straight and five out of their last seven. Last weekend, they defeated North Greenville in straight sets, 3-0, and took care of the Barton Bulldogs in four (3-1).
Liam French posted his career-high in kills in both games, with 16 in the first and 18 in the second. Meanwhile,
Omar Hoyos had an impressive weekend on the defensive side tallying six digs, three block assists and 30 receptions without any errors.
The Patriots will march into this weekend looking to extend their winning streak to five.
Hoyos leads the team in kills with 157 (3.34 per set), followed by
Jack Bolz with 141 (2.88). Freshman
Georgi Zahariev continues to be the team's primary setter tabbing 441 set assists (9.00). On the defensive side, freshman libero,
Paul Wyszynski, posted the most digs with 99 (1.94) and
Georgi Zahariev followed with 72 (1.47).
Scouting the Limestone University Saints (8-6)
The Saints are coached by Steve Benson in his 6th season. Last year, Benson led the Saints to a program record 18 wins that included a 7-1 start.
Albert Warzocha has the most kills for the Saints with 172 (3.58) and James Chretien is second with 114 (2.53). Warzocha and Chretien also contribute on the defensive side leading the team in digs (101/2.10) and (92/2.04). Cayden Marin is 15th in the nation in set assists per set with 9.77 and has recorded 518 over the year.
The Patriots have defeated Limestone in every contest so far, leading the series 3-0.
