HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The George Mason University men's tennis team completed its PTR Springfest slate with a 4-0 sweep of Saint Francis (Pa.) on Friday morning at the Van der Meer Tennis Center.
The bulk of the match was played Monday, but due to inclement weather, the contest was finished on Friday.
In doubles, the Patriots picked up victories at No. 1 and No. 2. At the top spot, senior
Rithik Sardana and freshman
Monil Lotlikar claimed a 6-2 win to finish their spring break partnership with a 3-1 record.
At No. 2, graduate student
Rishab Sardana and sophomore
Niza Simunyola took a 6-3 win to clinch the point.
In singles, freshman
Monil Lotlikar took the win at No. 1 with a straight sets, 6-1, 6-2 victory. Simunyola also won at No. 2 with consecutive 6-3 set wins over the Red Flashes' Banti.
Before heading back to Fairfax, the Patriots will play another A-10 match on their way north. George Mason battles Davidson on Sunday at 11 a.m. in North Carolina.
