FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's volleyball team will continue their four-game road swing this weekend when it travels to Pittsburgh to take on Duquesne.
Both teams are coming off of two tough road losses to two of the top teams in the Atlantic 10 by the same scores. Mason fell VCU 3-2, 3-0 on Saturday and Sunday while the Dukes were downed by Loyola Chicago 3-0, 3-2 in Chicago. Both teams also had midweek matchups, with the Patriots downing rival GW 3-0 at home and the Dukes falling to No. 18 Dayton on the road.
A season ago, Mason and Duquesne split two games in Fairfax. The Patriots took the Friday night game, 3-0, before the Dukes flipped the script and downed the hosts 3-0 on Saturday. All time, Duquesne holds an 11-3 record over Mason, with all 14 meetings coming as members of the Atlantic 10.

- Freshman Chelsea Colter had an outstanding week on defense, tallying a career-high nine blocks in back-to-back games. Over last week's three-game span, she averaged 1.8 blocks/set and now sits at ninth in the Atlantic 10 with 0.95 per set
- Camille Larkin eclipsed 150 kills over the weekend for the first time in her career, and continues to rank second in the Atlantic 10 with a .372 average hitting percentage
- In the back row, Gracie Halley notched three more games with double-figure digs this week, averaging 4.00 digs per set. She has a team-best 395 digs and averages 3.95/set (6th, A-10)
- Gabriella Gelfound tallied her first triple-double of the season on Saturday (11k, 21a, 11d) and leads the team with 399 assists, is second with 178 digs and is fourth with 179 kills (career-high)
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Duquesne sits at 10-12 on the season and 5-9 in Atlantic 10 play. After starting conference play at 5-5, the Dukes are on a four-game losing streak with losses to Loyola Chicago, Dayton and Rhode Island. Out of conference, Duquesne has common-opponent wins over Saint Peter's and Robert Morris.
As a team, the Dukes rank in the top-five in the conference in several important categories. Defensively, the team averages 15.15 digs/set (4
th, A-10) and 2.13 blocks/set (5
th, A-10). On offense, Duquesne is fourth with 16.20 points/set and 11.77 assists/set.
Powering the offense is setter Chloe Wilmot, who ranks second in the Atlantic 10.27 assists per set. Her main target is Carsyn Henschen, who sits at fourth in the conference with 3.22 kills per set and a team-high 251 kills. Defensively, Ariel Helm is fifth in the Atlantic 10 with 1.00 blocks/set and Madison Grimm ranks eighth in the conference with 3.46 digs per set.

Mason returns to Fairfax next weekend for its' regular season finale. The Patriots will host the Fordham Rams on Friday and Saturday, with Saturday serving as Senior Day for Mason.
