FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team continued its' historic start on Saturday afternoon, downing Robert Morris 83-63 to move to 5-0 and match the best start in school history.
The Patriots (5-0) once again boasted a balanced offense and strong defense with three players scoring in double figures and all 13 dressed players scoring multiple points. Freshman
Kennedy Harris led Mason in scoring for the first time this season with 13 points to go with two assists and two rebounds.
After the Colonials (1-3) scored the opening points, Mason responded with an 11-3 run with points from three different players. The Patriots held a 13-10 advantage at the media timeout, and came out firing. Seven fast break points highlighted an 11-0 run as Mason held Robert Morris without a field goal for the last 4:30 of the quarter to take a 27-12 lead into the break.
Mason stretched the lead to 19 points on back-to-back threes from
Carmen Williams off the bench as the junior scored her first points in the Green & Gold. The teams shot evenly throughout the quarter, trading points down the stretch. The Patriots led 48-29 at the break after forcing the Colonials into 11 turnovers compared to just three for the hosts.
Nine different Patriots scored in the third quarter as Mason outscored Robert Morris 23-13 in the frame.

Zahirah Walton all hit free throws down the stretch and a jump shot from Harris ended the quarter on a 6-2 lead as Mason's lead ballooned to 29 with one quarter remaining.
The Colonials made up some ground in the fourth quarter, shooting 50% from the field. However, Mason held strong and took advantage of eight Robert Morris fouls and going 9-12 from the charity stripe en route to the 20-point victory.
