Luis Maestre has been named Second Team All-Conference and freshman forward
Kelly Janssen has been selected to the Atlantic 10 Conference All-Rookie Team, the league announced on Monday.

Maestre, from Elche, Spain, tied for the Atlantic 10 lead in assists (9) and tied for third in the conference in points (19). Among NCAA leaders, he tied for second in the nation in assists (9).

Maestre led the Patriots in assists (9) and points (19) and tied for first on the club in goals (5). He also led Mason in minutes played by a field player (1350), logging all 90 minutes in 13 of 15 matches during the season.Â

In his first year with the Green and Gold, Maestre tallied five goals and four assists over the last seven matches of the season. He assisted on all three Patriots goals in his Mason debut against UMBC on Aug. 24 and scored two goals and added two assists in 7-0 victory at Radford on Oct. 17, just the fourth time in program history that the Patriots scored seven or more goals in a road match.

Janssen, from Sebastopol, Calif., played 10 matches with four starts and logged 451 minutes during his freshman campaign. He scored his first collegiate goal at La Salle on Sept. 30 and netted the game-winner in Mason's 1-0 victory at Duquesne on Oct. 7.
