PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Mason freshman defender
Kelly Janssen scored the lone goal of the match early in the second half to lift the Patriots to a 1-0 victory over Duquesne on Saturday night at Rooney Field in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Mason (3-5-2, 2-3-0 A-10) and Duquesne (5-4-2, 2-2-1 A-10) were scoreless after the first half of play.

Luis Maestre took a shot that the Dukes were unable to clear out of the box. Janssen pounced on the loose ball and scored his second goal of the season to put the Patriots in front, 1-0. Maestre notched his team-leading sixth assist of the season on the play.
The Patriots have scored the first goal in each of their last three matches.
Mason graduate student goalkeeper
Jaume Salvado (3-5-2, 2-3-0 A-10) made four saves while Duquesne junior goalkeeper Zoltan Nagy (5-4-2, 2-2-1 A-10) stopped five shots in the match.
The Patriots defeated the Dukes for the first time in program history in the seventh meeting between the two clubs.
