NEWARK, Del. – The George Mason men's soccer team downed Delaware, 3-1, on Tuesday night in a non-conference match at Grant Stadium in Newark, Del.
The Patriots improved to 4-1-1 in their last six matches.
Mason (5-6-3, 2-4-1 A-10) took the lead over Delaware (8-3-5, 2-2-3 CAA) in the 21st minute.

Souley Diouf scored his fifth goal of the season, his first on the road, into the top right corner of the net to put the Patriots in front, 1-0. Sophomore midfielder
Nicholas Prioli picked up the lone assist on the play.
In the 36th minute, graduate student midfielder
Luis Maestre tallied his fifth goal of the season into the bottom left corner to make it 2-0. Prioli recorded his second assist on the match.
Maestre has registered points in six straight matches with five goals and four assists. He has scored goals in three straight games.
Prioli has notched three goals and four assists in his last four games.
Delaware got on the board in the 65th minute when defender Jan Schroeder scored his first goal of the season to cut the Mason lead to 2-1.
A minute later, the Patriots pushed the lead back to two goals when junior defender Javi Sánchez scored his first goal in a Mason uniform to increase the advantage to 3-1. Sophomore midfielder
Asparuh Slavov posted his fourth assist of the season on the play.
