FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's soccer team is on the road for a non-conference match against Delaware on Tuesday with the opening kick scheduled for 7 p.m. at Grant Stadium in Newark, Del.
Mason (4-6-3, 2-4-1 A-10) and Delaware (8-2-5, 2-2-3 CAA) have met 12 times, with the Patriots holding an 8-2-2 advantage in the all-time series. Tuesday's matchup is the first between the Patriots and Blue Hens in 11 years.
In the last meeting between the two clubs, Mason senior Taylor Morgan scored a pair of second-half goals to propel the Patriots to a 2-0 road victory over the Blue Hens on Oct. 24, 2012.
The Patriots have a record of 5-1-1 at home and 3-1-1 on the road against Delaware. All three of Mason's road wins against Delaware have been by shutout.
Last time out, the Patriots fell to VCU, 2-1, on Saturday night at George Mason Stadium. The Patriots outshot the Rams, 17-8, while each team finished with four shots on goal. Mason had nine corner kicks and VCU didn't have a corner kick in the match.

Luis Maestre leads the team in assists (9) and points (17), is tied for the lead in goals (4) and is third in shots (14) in 13 starts. His nine assists are tied for the Atlantic 10 lead and are tied for second-most in the NCAA.

Souley Diouf is tied for first on the team in goals (4) and is tied for second in points (10) in 13 games with 12 starts. He is second in shots (20) and shots on goal (8).
Sophomore midfielder
Nicholas Prioli is tied for the club lead in goals (4) and is tied for second in points (10) in 12 games with five starts. He has scored on four on his six shots on goal this season.

Asparuh Slavov is second on the team in goals (3) and is third in both assists (3) and points (9) in 11 starts. He paces the Patriots in shots (22) and shots on goal (13).

PATRIOTS SCHEDULE
The Patriots are scheduled to play 15 regular season games, a slate that includes eight matches against Atlantic 10 opponents and six games at George Mason Stadium.
Head coach
Rich Costanzo begins his second season after being named the Patriots' 11th men's soccer coach in program history last year.
The Green and Gold kicked off the regular season at home against UMBC on Aug. 24 (4-3 Retrievers) and played the first road match against Virginia on Aug. 31 (1-0 Cavaliers). Charlottesville.
Mason returned home to take on Old Dominion on Sept. 24 (2-2 draw). The Patriots traveled to battle Bucknell on Sept. 8 (0-0 draw) in Lewisburg, Pa.
The Patriots downed Navy, 4-0, for their first victory of the season on Sept. 11 at George Mason Stadium.
Mason dropped its Atlantic 10 Conference opener to Davidson on Sept. 16 (2-0 Wildcats) and fell at St. Bonaventure on Sept. 23 in the first A-10 road match of the season (2-0 Bonnies).
Mason will then alternate road and home games over a six-match span from Sept. 30 through Oct. 21.
The Patriots wrapped up the month of September on the road against La Salle on Sept. 30 (2-1 Explorers) in Philadelphia, Pa.
The Patriots posted their first conference victory of the season at home against Rhode Island on Oct. 4 (4-2 Patriots).
The match against the Rams was the first of seven that the Patriots are playing in October, with three at home and four on the road in the month.
Mason made the trek to Pittsburgh, Pa. to face Duquesne and blanked the Dukes on Oct. 7 (1-0 Patriots).
The Patriots returned home for a clash against Dayton and played to a 1-1 draw (Oct. 14).
The Patriots defeated Radford, 7-0, in a midweek, non-conference match at Radford (Oct. 17).
Mason fell to VCU, 2-1, in the final home match of the season on senior night on Oct. 21.
The Patriots will play their final two matches of the regular season on the road against Delaware (Oct. 24) and George Washington (Oct. 28).
Prior to the start of the regular season, Mason played two exhibition games. The Patriots traveled to Loyola on Aug. 12 (3-1 Greyhounds) and hosted Mount St. Mary's on Aug. 19 (3-0 Patriots).
Campus sites will host the Atlantic 10 tournament, with the first round scheduled for Nov. 5 and the final slated for Nov. 13.
SCOUTING DELAWARE
Delaware has a record 8-2-5 including a mark of 2-2-3 against Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) opponents. The Blue Hens have a mark of 4-1-2 at home and 4-1-3 on the road.
Last time out, Delaware played to a 1-1 draw against UNCW last Saturday at UNCW Soccer Stadium in Wilmington, N.C.
Each team recorded 13 shots, while the Seahawks finished with a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal. UNCW had nine corner kicks and Delaware had three corner kicks in the match.
Senior forward Sam Donnellan leads the team in goals (8), points (20) and shots on goal (17) in 15 games with 14 starts. He is second in shots (30) and tied for third on the Blue Hens in assists (4).
Senior forward Carlos Fernandez is second on the club in goals (7), points (15) and shots on goal (14) in 15 games with 14 starts. He paces the Blue Hens in shots (31).
Freshman midfielder Richard Monath is second on the team in assists (5) and third in goals (4), shots (21) and shots on goal (13) in 15 games with 14 starts.
Sophomore goalkeeper Eddie DeMarco (5-2-2, 810 MIN, 1.89 GAA, 1 SO) has started nine matches. He has made 24 saves and allowed 17 goals against.
Junior goalkeeper Vik Adam (2-0-2, 360 MIN, 1.25 GAA, 1 SO) has started four games. He has made 12 saves and allowed five goals against.
CORNER KICK
Mason has an all-time record of 8-2-2 against Delaware. The two teams met 11 times as members of the Colonial Athletic Conference from 2002 through 2012 with the Patriots going 7-2-2 against the Blue Hens.
