Mason to Welcome Loyola Chicago to Fairfax

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's volleyball returns to Fairfax this weekend to kick off a five-match home swing beginning with the Loyola Chicago Ramblers on Friday night.
 
Last season in Chicago, the Ramblers downed Mason in both matches in the first meetings between the two teams in program history. After joining the Atlantic 10 prior to the 2022 season, the Ramblers capped a 17-1 regular conference schedule with the Atlantic 10 Championship.
 
This past weekend, the Patriots fell to conference-undefeated and nationally- ranked Dayton on the road. Despite the losses, Camille Larkin had an efficient weekend, tallying 11 total kills at a strong .435 clip.
 
PATRIOT POINTS
  • Larkin ranks first in the A- 10 with a .394 hitting percentage with 112 kills on 226 attempts and 23 errors. She has hit .500 or better in four of the last five matches and .333 or better against A-10 opponents this season
  • Nani Spaar returned to the court last week against GW, tallying a career-high 20 kills. She ranks second in the A-10 with 3.62 kills/set and 4.01 points/set
  • Defensively, Gracie Halley leads the Patriots with 295 digs this season, good for 3.93 per set (6th, A-10).
  • As a team, Mason is one of four teams in the Atlantic 10 to average a .200 hitting percentage or better this season and is third in the conference with 932 kills overall in 2023
  • Damiana Bova-Ford leads the team with 354 assists on the season and is on pace to best her career-high of 392 set last season
SCOUTING THE RAMBLERS
After a tough out of conference schedule that saw just two wins over Duke and No. 16 Purdue, the Ramblers have bounced back in conference, going 5-2 so far. After falling to Dayton in the opening weekend, the Ramblers have downed Davidson, Saint Louis and George Washington, all in sweeps.
 
On the offense, the reigning 2022 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and Honorable Mention AVCA All-American Karlie McNabb leads the team with 185 kills and 2.94 kills/set, tallying five double-doubles on the season. Addie Barnes leads the team with 28 service aces, good for 0.44 per set (3rd, A-10).
 
Bree Borum is fourth in the A-10 with 8.60 assists/set and sixth with a .314 hitting percentage and is first on the team with 180 digs, tallying three triple-doubles and 12 double-doubles on the year. Anna Feldkamp leads the Ramblers with 65 total blocks and is fourth in the conference with 1.10 blocks per set.
 
UP NEXT
The Patriots will host the Davidson Wildcats next weekend, Oct. 20-21, on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.
