FAIRFAX, Va. – The Patriots fell 3-0 to #3 Long Beach State on Saturday evening in the RAC.  Mason starts 0-4 on the season. The Beach won each set by scores of 25-17, 25-14 and 25-16.
 
The Patriots fought hard throughout the match. In each set the Patriots would keep it close up until about the 10^th point and then the Beach would start to pull away.
 
In the first two sets Mason didn't have any blocks to Long Beaches 7.5. The Beach tallied 10 more kills then Mason (39 to 29), while also recording more set assists, 37 to 28.
 
Long Beach State showed their size as won of the tallest teams in the nation. The Patriots had 19 attacking errors (Long Beach had 3), as they were trying to avoid blocks from all different angles.
 
Up next, the Patriots will compete against NJIT and Pepperdine on Jan. 26 and 28th in the Uvaldo Acosta Memorial Tournament.
