FAIRFAX, Va. – The Patriots fought hard in the 3-1 loss to the Buckeyes on Sunday afternoon in the RAC. The RAC was filled up with fans from both sides cheering on their teams.
Although Mason was outdueled in the first two sets (25-17,25-16), the Patriots showed their resiliency by battling to the brink in the last two, even stealing the third, 27-25.
In the third, the Patriots tallied five blocks to the Buckeyes three and half. This was the only set in which the Patriots led in kill percentage 0.259 to 0.208.

Omar Hoyos lead the team with four kills each while
Georgi Zahariev led in set assists with seven.
In the fourth set, the Patriots refused to let up and battled hard in which the score was tied 18 different times and the lead changed five times. Unfortunately, Mason's eight service errors ended up being insurmountable as the fifth finished 26-24 in favor of Ohio State.
