COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The George Mason University women's soccer team lost to Maryland 3-0 in Sunday afternoon's game at Ludwig Field.
Terrapin senior forward Alina Stahl scored the first goal of the game in the 15
th minute, running down the left side of the field and striking the ball ten yards from the goal. Later on, senior midfielder Sofi Vinas headed in the second goal of the afternoon off a corner kick with less than ten minutes remaining in the half.
The second half saw Mason's defense settle in, as they were able to shut down the Terps' advances. Freshman goalkeeper
Selamawit Caldart also recorded six saves in the game. However, the Terrapins would score one more goal in the 89
th minute, when graduate student Alyssa Poarch drilled her shot from 12 yards out aimed for the top-left corner of the goal.
