WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The George Mason men's soccer team dropped its non-conference match at William & Mary, 3-0, on Tuesday night at Martin Family Stadium in Williamsburg, Va.
Mason (2-6-0, 1-1-0 A-10) fell behind William & Mary (3-2-4, 2-1-1 CAA) early in the first half when junior forward Joe Core scored his first goal of the season in the seventh minute of play to put the Tribe in front, 1-0.
The Patriots were limited to one shot in the first 45 minutes of play.
Tribe senior midfielder Alexander Levengood scored two goals in a span of eight minutes in the second half to break the game open. He netted his third goal of the season in the 66th minute and his fourth of the year in the 73rd minute of play.
Mason senior goalkeeper
Jake Langley (2-6-0, 1-1-0 A-10) made four saves and surrendered three goals. Sophomore goalkeeper
Matthew Bauer played the final 9:07 of the match in his first appearance of the season. William & Mary graduate student goalkeeper Danilo Nikcevic made two saves to record his fourth consecutive shutout.
