FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's soccer team lost to Fordham 2-1 in Sunday's afternoon game. The Patriots drop their second game in this week's homestand.

The Patriots opened the scoring early in the game, when they converted on their first corner kick of the afternoon. Junior midfielder
Milan Pierre-Jerome sent the ball towards the back post of the goal, where freshman defender
Zoë Vidaurre headed the ball into the open net.
Zoë Vidaurre now leads the team in goals with two. Fordham would level the score 25 minutes later, when junior defender Marissa Krenn took a shot from 20 yards out. It would remain knotted up at the end of the first half.
The Rams would strike again in the 62
nd minute. Freshman forward Natalie Velde took a one-timer from just outside the box and buried it in the back of the net. The Patriots would have close chances to tie the game, but their shots would fly just wide of the goal frame. The game would ultimately end with the final score 2-1.

The Patriots will hit the road for their next two games. They will play St. Bonaventure in Olean, NY, on Thursday, September 29, scheduled for 7 p.m. They will then travel to Saint Louis to face off against the Billikens on Sunday, October 2, at 2 p.m.
