FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University women's soccer team secured its first win of the season Thursday night with a decisive 3-1 victory over Howard at George Mason Stadium.
Freshman midfielder
Rachel Eberly broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute after a scramble in the box had the ball at her feet. She scored off a low shot aimed at the bottom left of the goal. Not long after, redshirt freshman
Brooke Volpi would tack on a second goal for the Green and Gold in the 36th minute.
The halftime break did not slow the momentum for the Patriots, as redshirt freshman
Zoë Vidaurre scored the third goal of the night off a corner kick, assisted by junior
Milan Pierre-Jerome.
Howard sophomore Kendall France would score one goal in the final seconds of the game, giving the final score line of the match at 3-1.
