FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University women's soccer team (0-1-1) will play their first home game of the season, as they will host Howard (0-1-1) on Thursday, August 25.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at George Mason Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and can also be followed on Live Stat.
The matchup is also the Game of the Week, which means free Thundersticks for fans who attend the game and want to make extra noise while cheering on the Green and Gold (while supplies last).

Tickets are required for the 2022 Women's Soccer season. All Single Game Tickets for regular season home games are $10. Avoid the lines that may come with game day sales at the front gate – pre-purchase your tickets today and present them on your phone for entry to the match.

LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots are building off a hard-fought 1-1 draw on the road against Radford this past Sunday. It was the second leg of a two-game road trip to start the season.
Mason graduate student midfielder Sarah DeWitt scored the game's first goal of the game in the 32' minute, assisted by junior forward Shea Carroll. It was also DeWitt's first goal as a Patriot. Radford's relentless shooting would finally pay off in the second half, however, as they scored a goal in the 61' minute. Radford tied the game 1-1 after an offensive spurt early in the second half.
SCOUTING HOWARD
The Bison have started their season with a loss and draw. Their last game saw them come back from a 3-0 deficit against Elon to eventually draw the game at 3-3. Sophomore forward Melea Earley lead the comeback by scoring two goals and making one assist, totaling five points. All three goals were scored late in the second half.
Howard finished their 2021 season with a 6-5-3 overall record and a 5-3-2 record in the Northeast Conference (NEC). Melea Earley was also awarded All-NEC Second Team and All-Rookie Team honors for her freshman season accomplishments, which included leading the conference in points per game (1.29) and goals per game (0.57).
HISTORY WITH THE BISON
Mason has a 6-1 series advantage against Howard, where the Patriots have outscored the Bison 24-3. The last time these two teams met was on August 27, 2017, where Howard won 1-0.
