FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason track and field program will compete in the 2022 IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend, hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va.
The men's hammer throw will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday while the remainder of the meet will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

Last time out, the Mason men finished second at the A-10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 7-8). The men earned nine medals, including six gold.
Graduate student
Jaylen Simmons was named A-10 Most Outstanding Field Performer for the fifth time in his career. He was the 2022 A-10 champion in the shot put and discus. He currently ranks in the top-48 in the NCAA East Region in the shot put.
Junior
Jack Ikenberry was the A-10 champion in the 5k, breaking the meet record in a time of 14:08.79. Junior
Cason Gardner claimed the gold medal in the decathlon with a PR of 6,788 points while junior
Forest Flynn earned his first A-10 title in the pole vault.
Junior
Xavier Shirley was the A-10 champion in the long jump with a PR of 7.59 meters, putting him in the top-48 in the NCAA East Region.
The Patriot women placed fifth and garnered five medals over the two-day A-10 championship meet. Junior
Hannah Robertson was crowned the Atlantic 10 champion in the pole vault.
Jessica McRae (hammer),
Grace Furlong (triple jump) and
Autumn White (pole vault) notched silver medals while
Louisa Whittingham secured bronze in the 10k.
Up next, Mason will head to Bloomington, Ind., to compete in the NCAA East Preliminaries from May 25-29.
