FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's volleyball team (13-12, 7-7 EIVA) will host Harvard for a two-game series against Harvard (10-12, 8-6 EIVA) on Apr. 15-16 inside of the RAC.
LAST TIME OUT
Mason is coming off a weekend split with Fairleigh Dickinson and Princeton on the road. The Green & Gold defeated the Knights last Friday in a three set (25-16, 25-17, 25-23) sweep before falling in three sets (16-25, 21-25, 19-25) to the Tigers.
Senior
Richie Hoff, who had a great weekend the week prior, continued his offensive momentum into this past week. Hoff hit double digit kills in the first match of the weekend, recording 10 on 0.500 hitting with one error. The outside hitter only had one service error in five attempts (0.800) and led the team in digs (5) in the loss on Saturday.
Freshman
Lucas Little led the team on the defensive end. The middle block recorded a team high five blocks in the win on Friday and a team high three blocks in the loss on Saturday. Little was a team leader in hitting over the weekend, going 4-1-6 (0.500) and tallied one of the Patriot's three service aces on Saturday.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
HARVARD (10-12, 8-6 EIVA)
The Crimson are coming off a weekend skid to Charleston (WVa.). Harvard lost in four sets in the first match (25-22, 24-26, 21-25, 32-34), before falling in the second match in a thrilling five sets (25-17, 22-25, 24-26, 25-13, 11-15).
The Crimson are led offensively by senior Campbell Schoenfeld. The outside hitter leads the team with 246 total kills, 17 assists, and eight service aces in 75 sets played.
Freshman James Bardin leads the Crimson on the defensive end. The setter is a team leader in digs and blocks, recording 41 and 103 respectively.
The Patriots hold the advantage over the Crimson, leading the all-time series 17-9.
