FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's basketball junior forward
Josh Oduro etched his name into the record books Tuesday, becoming the first Patriot in program history to be named to the All-Atlantic 10 First Team.
The Gainesville, Va., product put together an outstanding regular season campaign in 2021-22 while claiming Mason's first individual conference scoring title since George Evans in 1998-99.
Oduro is one of just three players in the nation to average at least 18+ points, shoot 52 percent or better from the floor and tally at least 1.5 blocks per contest.
He is joined on the All-Atlantic 10 First Team by Player of the Year Luke Brajkovic (Davidson), as well as Hyunjung Lee (Davidson), Jalen Adaway (St. Bonaventure), Yuri Collins (Saint Louis) and Vince Williams (VCU).

D'Shawn Schwartz was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team. He's the first A-10 All-Academic Team selection in program history.
Oduro averaged an A-10-best 18.0 points per game during the regular season while ranking third in the league in field goal percentage (.528) and eighth in blocks (1.7). He's the first Mason player since 1995-96 to post four 30+ point efforts. Oduro also had 11 games with 20 or more points and scored at least 10 in 22 of the 26 games he played.
He notched five double-doubles during the campaign and notched at least two blocks in 12 contests. In league games, he ranked second in the A-10 in rebounding (8.3 rpg) and was eighth overall in offensive rebounds per contest (2.2). He garnered A-10 Player of the Week honors on Nov. 15 and was named to the Crossover Classic All-Tournament Team during the non-conference season.
Schwartz has put together an exception season in the classroom and on the court. He has posted a 3.89 GPA in his business analytics grad work while being named a candidate for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award.
On the floor, he's excelled for the Patriots while ranking sixth in the A-10 in scoring in league games (16.8 ppg). In overall contests, he's third in the league in 3pt FG made/game (2.59) and 3pt FG% (.381). He tallied nine 20+ point efforts and 22 with 10+ points, while registering double figure scoring totals in 14 of 16 A-10 contests. His 75 3-pointers made on the year ranks seventh-most in Mason single season history.
