PATRIOT POINTS
* No. 14 Mason will face No. 6 Fordham in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championships on Thursday. With a win, Mason would advance to the quarterfinals and face No. 3 Massachusetts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
* A week ago against Saint Louis, Mason was held to 35 points, but Wednesday the Patriots were able to best the 11th-seeded Billikens 65-50 in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship.
* The Patriots earned their first Atlantic 10 Championship win since 2018, and the first of the Blair-Lewis era. Mason is the first No. 14 seed to upset its opponent in the A-10 Championships, dating back to the league expansion in 2015.
* Mason reached double-figure wins for the first time since the 2018-19 season. The Patriots have more than tripled their win total from a season ago.
* Junior
Tamia Lawhorne led the Patriots with a career-high 24 points. She made a career-best six three-pointers to go along with five rebounds. Her six three-pointers are the second-most made in a single game in A-10 Championship history.
* Junior
Jazmyn Doster added 14 points (7-11 FG) and a team-high seven rebounds. She has led the team in boards in 11 games this season. She ranks 10th in the A-10 with 6.4 boards per game.
* Senior
Amaya Scott was the third Patriot in double figures with 11 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists. She has scored in double figures in all but five games this season. She has led the team in scoring 13 times and rebounding nine times.
* Mason shot an efficient 42.4 percent from the field (25-59) and made seven three-pointers (.333). The Patriots outscored the Billikens 39-24 in a dominant second half of play.
* Sophomore
Taylor Jameson came alive for the Patriots in conference play, posting 10 double-digit scoring performances. In league action, she averaged 11.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 38.2 percent from the field.
* Mason is 9-2 when leading at the half, and 7-1 when leading with five minutes to go. Conversely, the Patriots are 0-15 when trailing at the half.
* Scott ranks eighth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring with 15.4 points per game. She sits 12th in rebounding (6.3) and 14th in field goal percentage (.457). She also ranks in the top-100 nationally in field goals made (171) – good for second in the A-10.
*
Tamia Lawhorne ranks 11th in the A-10 in three-point field goal percentage (.360) and ninth in three-pointers per game (1.9). She's recorded eight games with three-or-more three-pointers.
* Redshirt sophomore
Jayla Adams is currently averaging 3.5 assists per game – good for eighth in the A-10. She's led the team in assists 18 times this season and has dished out five-plus assists in nine games.
* Adams is three assists shy of 100 assists this season. She'd be the first Patriot to eclipse 100 assists in a season since Taylor Dodson (110) and Nicole Cardano-Hillary (102) in 2017-18.
* In league action only, Jameson sits eighth in three-pointers made per game (1.9) and 17th in three-point field goal percentage (.350). She has made 2-or-more three-pointers in seven A-10 games, nine overall.
