FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team continues its road stretch with a Saturday contest against Dayton. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside UD Arena.
 
Saturday's game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+. In addition, Brian McSweeney will call the game on the GoMason Digital Network, with pre-game coverage beginning at 1:50 p.m.
 
PATRIOT POINTS
* Mason (8-12, 2-6 A-10) won its second straight Atlantic 10 game on Wednesday night against Davidson, 58-50. The Patriots improved to 5-5 on the road this season.
 
* Mason won back-to-back A-10 games for the first time since 2018-19 when the Patriots defeated Dayton on Feb. 24 (54-51) and Saint Joseph's on Feb. 27 (68-59). 
 
* Sophomore Taylor Jameson (13), junior Jordan Wakefield (11) and junior Tamia Lawhorne (11) finished in double figures vs. Davidson.
 
* Jameson has posted six double-digit performances in the last seven games. She's averaging 12.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists over that stretch. 
 
* Redshirt sophomore Jayla Adams provided an all-around performance with eight points, seven rebounds and five assists vs. Davidson. She's led the team in assists 14 times this season. 
 
* Senior Amaya Scott notched a near double-double with eight points and nine rebounds. She has scored in double figures in all but two games this season. She's led the team in scoring 12 times and in rebounding nine times.
 
* Mason shot a season-best 41.2 percent from three-point range (7-17) and finished 41.7 percent from the floor overall (20-48). It marked the first time the Patriots shot above 40.0 percent from deep this season. 
 
* The Patriots have locked down on defense over the last two games, holding their opponents to an average of 48.0 points, 31.4 percent shooting from the floor (38-121) and just 17.5 percent shooting from three-point range (7-40).
 
* Mason has held its opponent to 50 points or fewer in back-to-back games for the first time since the 2017-18 season when the Patriots defeated Eastern Kentucky on Dec. 9 (64-41) and UMBC on Dec. 11 (58-38).
 
* With Wednesday's victory, Mason improved to 8-2 when leading at the half, and 5-1 when leading with five minutes to go. 
 
* Junior Jazmyn Doster posted her sixth career double-double against GW with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Mason is 3-1 when Doster registers a double-double. 
 
* Mason has switched to a two-point guard lineup over the last five games, featuring Jameson and Adams. Over that stretch, Jameson is averaging 12.2 points and 3.4 assists while Adams is averaging 8.2 points and 4.0 assists.
 
* Adams is currently averaging 3.7 assists per game – good for eighth in the A-10. She has dished out six-plus assists in five games this season. 
 
* Mason ranks 48th in the nation in free throws made, going 274-of-390 from the line this season (.703). The Patriots have shot 70.0 percent or better from the line in 13 games. 
 
* Scott ranks 73rd nationally in points per game (17.3) – good for fourth in the Atlantic 10. She also ranks 51st nationally in field goals made (132) and 38th in free throws made (80). She sits ninth in the A-10 in rebounding (7.2) and 11th in field goal percentage (.462). 
 
* Junior Jordan Wakefield ranks 23rd in the A-10 in scoring (11.5) and 24th in rebounding (5.3). 
 
* Jameson sits seventh in the A-10 in free throw percentage (.796) and 20th in assists per game (2.6). In A-10 play, she ranks 10th in three-pointers made per game (1.8) and 20th in three-point percentage (.311).  
 
SERIES HISTORY
The two teams will be meeting for the 11th time in program history with Dayton leading the all-time series, 8-2. The Flyers have won the last two meetings, including a 59-37 victory last season on Jan. 8, 2021 in Fairfax. Mason will look for its first road win over the Flyers in program history. 
 
SCOUTING THE FLYERS (17-3, 8-0 A-10; NET 51)
Dayton enters Saturday's contest on an 11-game winning streak and is one of two undefeated teams in the Atlantic 10 with a league record of 8-0. The Flyers are receiving votes in the AP Poll and have a NET ranking of 51. 
 
Dayton leads the conference and ranks 20th nationally in rebounds per game (42.9). They also lead the A-10 in three-point field goal percentage (.352) – good for 37th nationally. Erin Whalen is averaging 15.2 points per game while shooting 41.1 percent from the floor. She ranks in the top-50 nationally in three-pointers per game (35th, 2.6) and three-pointers made (46th, 49).

Mason returns to action with a rescheduled contest against UMass on Friday, Feb. 11. Tip-off is scheduled for noon in Amherst, Mass.
