FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team will open the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championships on Wednesday against No. 11 Saint Louis. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the CHASE Fieldhouse in Wilmington, Del. 
 
Wednesday's game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+ with commentary by Joel Godett and Debbie Taylor. In addition, Brian McSweeney will call the game on the GoMason Digital Network, with pre-game coverage beginning at 3:50 p.m.
 
ESPN+ will stream Wednesday's first-round games through Friday's quarterfinals. CBS Sports Network will air the semifinals Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. while the championship final will get underway Sunday at 2 p.m. via a national broadcast on ESPN2.
 
PATRIOT POINTS
* No. 14 Mason will face No. 11 Saint Louis in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championships on Wednesday. With a win, Mason would advance to the second round and face No. 6 Fordham at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
 
* Mason downed St. Bonaventure, 61-50, in its regular season finale on Saturday inside the Reilly Center in Olean, N.Y. The Patriots finished the regular season with an overall record of 9-18 and Atlantic 10 mark of 3-12.
 
* Mason finished the road portion of its schedule with a mark of 6-8. It marked the most road wins in a season since 2018-19. 
 
* Sophomore Taylor Jameson tied her career-high 20 points. She made four three-pointers and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. She's led the team in scoring six times this season.
 
* Senior J-Naya Ephraim tied her career-best 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting to go along with six rebounds. She's averaging 8.0 points and 4.7 rebounds over the last three games while shooting 42.9 percent from the field.
 
* Mason put together a strong offensive showing, shooting 43.6 percent from the field (24-55) and 35.3 percent from deep (6-17). The Patriots posted 13 assists on their 24 made field goals.
 
* Junior Jazmyn Doster pulled down a team-high nine rebounds in the win at St. Bonaventure. She has led the team in boards in 10 games this season. She ranks 10th in the A-10 with 6.4 boards per game. 
 
* Senior Amaya Scott added eight points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals in an all-around performance. She has scored in double figures in all but five games this season. She has led the team in scoring 13 times and rebounding nine times. 
 
* Jameson has come alive for the Patriots in conference play, posting 10 double-digit scoring performances. In league action, she's averaging 11.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 38.2 percent from the field.  
 
* Mason improved to 9-2 when leading at the half, and 6-1 when leading with five minutes to go. Conversely, the Patriots are 0-15 when trailing at the half.
 
* Scott ranks seventh in the Atlantic 10 in scoring with 15.6 points per game. She sits 12th in rebounding (6.3) and 15th in field goal percentage (.454). She also ranks 79th nationally in field goals made (166) – good for fourth in the A-10. 
 
* Tamia Lawhorne ranks 16th in the A-10 in three-point field goal percentage (.348) and 13th in three-pointers per game (1.7). She's recorded seven games with three-or-more three-pointers. 
 
* Redshirt sophomore Jayla Adams is currently averaging 3.6 assists per game – good for eighth in the A-10. She's led the team in assists 18 times this season and has dished out five-plus assists in nine games.
 
* Adams is four assists shy of 100 assists this season. She'd be the first Patriot to eclipse 100 assists in a season since Taylor Dodson (110) and Nicole Cardano-Hillary (102) in 2017-18. 
 
* In league action only, Jameson sits eighth in three-pointers made per game (1.9) and 18th in three-point field goal percentage (.350). She has made 2-or-more three-pointers in seven A-10 games, nine overall.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Billikens hold an 8-3 advantage in the all-time series. Saint Louis has won the last four meetings, including a 58-35 win over Mason earlier this season on Feb. 23 in EagleBank Arena. Mason will look for its first win over Saint Louis since Jan. 24, 2018 when the Patriots earned an 81-72 victory in EagleBank Arena.
 
The two teams will face off in the A-10 Championships for the second time in the last three years. The Billikens defeated the Patriots, 69-61, in the first round of the 2020 A-10 Championships on March 3, 2020 in Saint Louis, Mo. 
 
SCOUTING THE BILLIKENS (9-17, 5-9 A-10; NET 164)
Saint Louis earned the No. 11 seed in the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship after compiling a conference record of 5-9. Ciaja Harbison paces the Billikens' offense with 17.8 points per game – good for third in the A-10 and 60th nationally. 
 
Senior Brooke Flowers is averaging a double-double with 11.3 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Her 11.5 rebounds per contest lead the A-10 and rank 10th in the nation. She also sits third in the country in blocks per game with 3.3.
 
UP NEXT 
With a win, Mason would advance to the second round and face No. 6 Fordham at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3.
