BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The George Mason men's volleyball team (3-6, 0-4 EIVA) fell in a heartbreaker five set (23-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-18, 13-15) match against St. Francis Brooklyn (4-2, 2-1 EIVA) on Saturday night inside the Anthony J. Genovesi Center.
Mason came back from behind in the first set to cut the Terriers lead, tying the set several times before St. Francis Brooklyn slipped away to take the game. The Patriots offense bounced back in a triumphant effort to win the second and fourth sets by a wide margin. The Green & Gold put up hard offensive and defensive battles, but it was not enough to take home the win.
"I thought the first game was a repeat of last night's performance," said Head Coach
Jay Hosack. "However, game two through the fifth was the level of fight I have been trying to find in our team all year. I know we lost the match, and we had chances to win it in four, but this was a turning point for us as a group to find that identity."
