MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The George Mason women's basketball team will begin the away portion of its' schedule on Thursday, traveling to Robert Morris as a part of a two-game road trip to the Pittsburgh area.
The two teams have never met, but often share opponents, including last season when Robert Morris fell to fellow A-10 member St. Bonaventure, 53-61.
The Colonials used a strong defense to take down Saint Francis on Monday, Nov. 7, in their first game of the season.
Mason fell to No. 17 Maryland on Monday night, 88-51. Junior
Taylor Jameson (15 PTS, 4 REB) and graduate student
J-Naya Ephraim (9 PTS, 3 AST, 5 REB) led the Patriots offensively while seniors
Jazmyn Doster (7 REB, 7 PTS) and
Nalani Kaysia (2 BLK, 5 REB, 5 PTS) led the defense.

- Mason is 3-1 all-time against Horizon League opponents.
- In the last 10 seasons, the Patriots are 3-7 in road openers, but have won three of the last four.
- Taylor Jameson's 15 points marked the 21st time in her career that she has reached double-digit scoring.
- Sophomore Paula Suárez matched her career-high with four assists on Monday night. She also tallied four against Saint Louis in last season's A-10 First Round victory.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
In Monday's win, Robert Morris never trailed and held the Red Flash scoreless from beyond the arc. Two Colonials scored 14 points during the game and Robert Morris tallied 14 steals as a team. Junior forward Sol Castro is Robert Morris' top returner from last season, leading the team in field goal percentage (.419) and was second on the team in points/game (8.6). The Argentina native also averaged 5.4 rebounds/game, tallied 17 blocks and started every game during the 2021-22 season.
