FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's volleyball team fell to Dayton (10-9, 4-2) on Friday night in straight sets.

Peyton Ehmke led the Patriots defense, tallying a season-high six block assists to go along with a solo block and four kills.
Set one was all Dayton as they stretch their lead to 10 after a service ace and kills from four different athletes and cruised to a 25-14 win.
The Patriots (5-12, 1-5) were outhit .212--.036 in set two. The two teams were even defensively as both tallied four blocks and 13 digs. However, the Flyers took set two, 25-17, behind 13 kills.
Set three was a thriller, as the Patriots pushed the Flyers into extra points, falling 29-27 with 14 tie scores and five lead changes occurring in the set. Mason was down 22-20 and called a timeout, and immediately tying the score. The teams traded points and were tied 26-26 when a block by Ehmke and junior
Katelyn Clarke gave Mason the lead and forced a Dayton timeout. However, a kill by the Flyers and two Patriot errors gave Dayton the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Senior Mujay Mambu led the Patriots with seven kills at a .190 efficiency.
- Six different Patriots recorded a block on the night.
- Sophomore Damiana Bova-Ford led the Patriots with 10 assists and senior Stephanie Der led the defense with nine digs.
