FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's soccer team plays its final match of the season on Saturday, hosting George Washington on Senior Day with the opening kick scheduled for 7 p.m. at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Va.

Last time out, the Patriots (2-10-2, 1-5-1 A-10) fell to VCU, 3-1, on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond, Va. The Rams scored in the 35th, 51st and 61st minute to build the lead. The Patriots got on the board when the Rams scored an own goal in the 68th minute.
The Rams outshot the Patriots, 13-10, including a 5-1 advantage in shots on goal. VCU finished with five corner kicks and Mason had two corner kicks in the match.

Mason is 27-16-4 in 47 all-time meetings against George Washington. The Patriots are 11-9-1 at home, 14-6-2 on the road and 2-0-1 in games played at a neutral site against the Colonials.
In the last meeting, the Patriots fell to the Colonials in overtime, 2-1, on Oct. 20, 2021 at the GW Soccer Field in Washington, D.C.
After a scoreless first half, the Colonials took the lead in the 62nd minute and Mason forward
Ishmail Kamara scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute. In the second overtime, the Colonials netted the game-winner in the 98th minute.
The Colonials outshot the Patriots, 24-8, including a 10-4 advantage in shots on goal. George Washington had 13 corner kicks, while Mason had six corner kicks in the match.

The Green and Gold kicked off the season at Old Dominion on Aug. 26 (1-0, Old Dominion) and American on Sept. 2 (2-1, American) in the first two games of seven non-conference matches.
Mason then played three straight games at George Mason Stadium, the longest homestand of the season. The Patriots hosted Penn State on Sept. 5 in the home opener (3-1, Nittany Lions), Radford on Sept. 10 (3-1, Patriots) and played their first conference match of the season against St. Bonaventure on Sept. 17 (2-1, Patriots).
Mason played seven games in September, with four on the road and three at home.Â
The Patriots played a season-high four straight matches on the road from Sept. 20 through Oct. 1, alternating non-conference and league games.Â
The Patriots made the trek to take on top-ranked Wake Forest on Sept. 20 (6-1, Demon Deacons), played their first A-10 road game against Davidson on Sept. 24 (2-0, Wildcats), visited William & Mary on Sept. 27 (3-0, Tribe) and traveled to No. 19 Dayton on Oct. 1 (4-0, Flyers).
Mason returned to Fairfax to continued league play against La Salle on Oct. 5 (0-0 draw) and hosted Duquesne on Oct. 8 (1-0, Dukes). After an A-10 road matchup at Rhode Island on Oct. 15 (2-1, Rams), the Patriots played to a home draw in their non-conference game against UNCW on Oct. 18 (1-1).Â
The Patriots traveled to face in-state rival VCU on Oct. 22 (3-1, Rams) and conclude the regular season at home against the George Washington Colonials (Oct. 29) in a Revolutionary Rivalry contest.
This season, the Patriots are scheduled to play 15 regular season games, a slate that includes two matches against NCAA Tournament teams. Mason will play seven home games, three against non-conference opponents and four against Atlantic 10 rivals.
SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
George Washington enters the match with a 7-8-2 overall record, including a mark of 3-4-0 against Atlantic 10 Conference opponents. The Colonials are 5-3-1 at home and 2-5-1 on the road this season.
Last time out, George Washington fell to Longwood, 3-2, on Tuesday in Farmville, Va. Senior midfielder Tiago Carvalho scored his second goal of the season in the 50th minute and graduate student midfielder Cameron Mathewson scored his first goal of the campaign in the 68th minute for the Colonials.
The Colonials outshot the Lancers, 13-11, including a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal.
The Colonials have dropped their last three road matches, falling to Longwood (3-0, Oct. 25), No. 2 Duke (4-0, Oct. 18) and Saint Louis (1-0, Oct. 15).
Graduate student midfielder/forward Oscar Haynes Brown is tied for the team lead in goals (6) and is second in points (14) in 15 starts. He is also tied for the team lead in shots (36) and shots on goal (15).Â
Senior midfielder Elias Norris is tied for the team lead in goals (6) and is third in points (13) in 16 games with 12 starts. He shares the team lead in shots (36) and is third in shots on goal (12).
Senior midfielder/forward Tom Cooklin paces the Colonials in assists (11) and points (17) in 15 starts. He is tied for first on the squad in shots on goal (15) and is second in shots (29).
Senior goalkeeper Justin Grady (6-7-1, 1.76 GAA, 1230 MIN, 3 SO) has started 15 games for the Colonials. He has made 58 saves and allowed 24 goals against. Sophomore goalkeeper Richard Raupp (1-1-0, 1.29 GAA, 209 MIN, 1 SO) has appeared in four games with one start. He has made four saves and allowed three goals against.
