RICHMOND, Va. – The George Mason men's soccer team fell to VCU, 3-1, on Saturday night at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond, Va.
Mason (2-10-1, 1-5-1 A-10) fell behind VCU (2-7-6, 1-1-4 A-10) in the 35th minute of play. Rams sophomore midfielder Damian Gallegos scored his first goal of the season from 16 yards out to put the Rams in front, 1-0.
VCU extended the advantage early in the second half with a pair of goals in a span of 10 minutes.
In the 51st minute, sophomore forward Camilo Comi netted his fourth goal of the season from 15 yards out to make it a 2-0 game.
Comi found the back of the net again 10 minutes later from just outside the six yard box for his team-leading fifth goal of the campaign to increase the lead to 3-0.
In the 68th minute, the Patriots got on the board when the Rams scored an own goal.
Mason senior goalkeeper
Jake Langley (2-10-1, 1-5-1 A-10) made two saves, while VCU sophomore goalkeeper John Ermini made one save in the match.
