FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University women's soccer team played Saint Joseph's to a scoreless draw in Thursday evening's game. The Patriots record their third tie in conference play and snap a two-game losing streak.
Mason's offense kept constant pressure on the Hawks. The Patriots had chances to score throughout the game, most notably by freshman midfielder
Rachel Eberly in the in the 31
st minute, when her shot from the right corner of the box was curling towards the top left corner of the goal. Saint Joseph's junior goalkeeper Katie Cappelletti dove and used every inch of her six-foot frame to block the shot at the last moment. Later in the second half, junior forward
Ashley Shimberg had a chance to lift the Patriots ahead as well in the 58
th minute. After a scramble from a Patriot cross landed at the feet of Shimberg, she took a shot from just inside the box, but the ball flew over the crossbar.

Kolbrun Eyjolfsdottir anchored the defensive line. The seniors contributed valuable minutes and playing time throughout the game.
