FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's and men's swimming and diving teams swept Old Dominion on Saturday afternoon at the Aquatic and Fitness Center. The women's team earned a 173-102 win, while the men's team posted a 175.5-113.5 victory.

On the women's side, Mason won 13 events against the Monarchs.

The Patriots took the top two spots in the 100-yard backstroke, with freshman
Ali Tyler winning the event (55.87), while classmate
Anna Whelan placed second (57.08). Whelan won the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.56).

Tyler also won the 50-yard freestyle (23.43), with freshman
Shannon Judge less than a second back in second place (24.41).

The Patriots went one-two in the 200-yard freestyle, with senior
Laura Hodge first (1:53.87) and freshman
Emma DeJong second (1:53.99). DeJong took the top spot on the podium in the 100-yard freestyle (52.48).

Hodge won her second event of the day, claiming first place in the 500-yard freestyle by nearly seven seconds (5:15.55).

In the 100-yard breaststroke, senior
Jacquee Clabeaux placed first (1:04.00) with freshman
Daphne Bernal in second (1:08.72). Clabeaux also recorded a first-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.96).

Mason claimed the top three spots in the 200-yard butterfly, with sophomore
Abigail Murtaugh touching the wall first (2:07.65), senior
Annie McNenny second (2:10.77) and freshman
Michaela Teachey third (2:12.17).

Murtaugh registered the top time in the 100-yard butterfly (58.41), with McNenny second (59.41) in the event.

Tyler, Clabeaux, Murtaugh and Judge won the 200-yard medley relay (1:44.68).

Emma McDonald won both the one-meter (200.70) and the three-meter (205.05) diving events.

On the men's side, the Patriots won 11 events on the day.

Mason took the top three spots in the 1650-yard freestyle, with junior
Jackson Knouse first (16:20.41), freshman
Zachary Kopel second (16:35.81) and sophomore
Graham Boyle third (16:39.53).
Knouse picked up his second win of the afternoon with the 500-yard freestyle (4:48.12).

Anthony Nguyen won the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.18), with Knouse third in the event (1:47.34).

Alexander Franklin took the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke (50.62), while sophomore
Dylan Nguyen placed third (52.13). Franklin also won the 100-yard butterfly (49.90).

Thomas Chapman won both the 100-yard breaststroke (58.29) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:07.90).
