FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team will open Atlantic 10 play against Fordham on Wednesday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax.
Wednesday's game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+ with commentary by
Steve Kolbe and Bill Rohland. In addition, Brian McSweeney will call the game on the GoMason Digital Network, with pre-game coverage beginning at 6:50 p.m.

* Mason (6-6) returns to the hardwood for the first time since Dec. 20, when the Patriots fell to JMU 69-61 in their non-conference finale. The Patriots are coming off a 23-day break due to COVID-19 protocols that cost them four games.
* The Patriots' first three A-10 matchups – UMass, La Salle and Saint Joseph's – were postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.

Vanessa Blair-Lewis will miss Wednesday's game against Fordham due to COVID-19 health & safety protocols. Associate head coach

Jazmyn Doster posted her third double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds against JMU.

Amaya Scott added 19 points and seven rebounds against the Dukes. She's averaging 20.0 points and 7.3 rebounds over the last four games, shooting 45.3 percent from the field and 75.9 percent from the free throw line.

Tamia Lawhorne scored 13 points with three three-pointers against JMU. She's averaging 12.8 points in her last five games with 14 three-pointers (.359).

Jordan Wakefield was the fourth Patriot to finish in double figures vs. the Dukes with 10 points. She has scored in double figures in all but two games this season.

Taylor Jameson dished out a career-high six assists against JMU. She's averaging 2.8 assists over the last six games to go along with 7.8 points per contest.

Angelee Rodriguez missed the first 10 games of the season due to injury. She's since played in two games, averaging 7.0 minutes per contest.
* The Patriots are 5-0 in games decided by five points or less, and 5-1 when owning the advantage on the glass.
* Mason ranks 71st in the nation in free throws made, going 180-of-247 from the line this season (.729). The Patriots have shot 70.0 percent or better from the line in nine of its 12 games.
* In the A-10, Scott ranks third in scoring (17.0), eighth in rebounding (7.4) and 12th in field goal percentage (.476). She's led the team in scoring in eight games and rebounding in six.
* Wakefield ranks 13th in the A-10 in scoring (13.8) and 24th in rebounding (5.3). She's third in the Atlantic 10 in free throw percentage, going 43-of-49 from the charity stripe (.878).

Jayla Adams has led the team in assists in nine games this season. She currently averaging 3.8 assists per game – good for seventh in the A-10.
* Lawhorne ranks in the top-25 in the A-10 in 3-point field goal percentage (19th, .358) and field goal percentage (25th, .418).
* Scott is 25 points away from scoring 1,000 in her career.
SERIES HISTORY
The Patriots are looking for their first win over Fordham since 2008, and their first win over the Rams since joining the A-10 in 2013-14. The Rams have won eight straight in the series for an 9-3 all-time lead. Mason is 2-4 vs. the Rams inside EagleBank Arena.
SCOUTING THE RAMS (9-4, 0-1 A-10; NET 63)
Fordham was picked to finish third in the Atlantic 10 and is led by reigning A-10 Co-Player of the Year Anna DeWolfe. She ranks 11th nationally in scoring (21.0 ppg), 13th in field goals made (108) and 40th in three-pointers made (35).
Senior transfer Asiah Dingle ranks 51st nationally in steals per game (2.54). She adds 13.5 points per contest – good for 14th in the A-10. As a team, the Rams rank 30th nationally in free throw percentage (.756) and 56th in turnovers per game (14.2).
