Patriots Host Air Force on Thursday Night

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's soccer team (0-6) continue their four game home stand on Thursday, September 9, hosting Air Force.
 
Kickoff between the Patriots and the Falcons is set for 7 p.m. inside George Mason Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+. Fans can also follow the action via live stats.
 
This will be Mason's seventh game of the season. The Patriots are searching for their first win of the 2021 season.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots' hard-fought effort on defense was not enough in the loss to the Darmouth Big Green on Sunday (2-1).
 
Possession of the ball was split evenly amongst the Patriots and the Big Green. Dartmouth tallied two goals on 10 total shots (five on goal). Mason tallied one goal on 14 total shots (six on goal), a season high for the Patriots.
 
Senior Kolbrún Eyjólfsdóttir  scored the lone goal of the game for the Patriots off an assist from junior Grace Hotaling. This was Eyjólfsdóttir's second goal in two matches. Senior Sara Chontosh recorded five shots in the contest (two on goal). Senior Dacheka Kolcum (one on goal) and junior Kaitlyn Butcher tallied two shots in the contest. Sophomore Jule Kleymann and freshmen Lea SpittkaSerena Spitz (one on goal), and Halla Svansdóttir (one on goal) all recorded on shot.
 
HISTORY vs. THE FALCONS
This is the second time in program history that Air Force and Mason have faced each other. Mason won the previous matchup against the Falcons.

SCOUTING AIR FORCE
The Falcons kicked their 2021 campaign with a 1-1-1 start, recording a win against Cal Poly and a draw against Northern Colorado. Air Force finished their 2020-21 with a 2-6 record.
 
Air Force is led by Kayla Milford and Ashlie Van Cleave who have both recorded a goal for the Falcons this season. Hannah Johnson leads the team in assists. The Falcons have recorded 35 shots in the their last three games, 19 of which have been on goal.
