HARRISONBURG, Va. – The George Mason men's soccer team fell at James Madison, 2-0, on Tuesday night at Sentara Park in Harrisonburg, Va.
Mason (1-2-1) and James Madison (3-1-0) were locked in a defensive battle through 41 minutes of play in the first half
The Dukes broke the ice in the 42nd minute off a corner kick.
Junior defender Malker Anshelm scored his first goal of the season when he converted with a header from just in front of the goal line to put James Madison in front 1-0. Freshman Alex Krakowiak picked up his first collegiate assist on the play.
James Madison extended the advantage in the 62nd minute when sophomore forward Rodrigo Robles scored his first goal of the season into the top right corner from 19 yards out to make it 2-0. Freshman defender Josiah Blanton played the ball ahead to Robles to pick up his first career assist.

Jackson Lee (1-2-1) made two saves, while James Madison senior goalkeeper Alex DeSatnick (1-0-0) made three saves in his first start of the season.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The Dukes outshot the Patriots 12-8, including an 8-5 advantage in shots on goal. James Madison finished with five corner kicks, while Mason had four corner kicks in the match.
The Patriots registered all eight shots and their five shots on goal in the second half.
