Box Score FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's volleyball team was swept by Dayton on Saturday evening at the Recreation Athletic Complex.
Mason (2-11, 0-2 A-10) put up a strong effort, but came up short against the reigning Atlantic 10 champions. The Patriots went point-for-point with the Flyers in the second set and held a late 23-22 lead in the frame. Dayton would later squeeze out the set-win in extra points, 28-26.

Erin Derick guided Mason's offense with 35 assists and 13 digs for her fourth double-double of the season.

Katie Parmalee and
Peyton Ehmke combined for 19 kills on offense while defensive trio
Stephanie Der,
Morgan Nguyen and
Marlanna Bozicevich combined for 25 digs.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Flyers outhit the Patriots, .202 to .154. Dayton also held the advantage in digs, 56 to 48.
- Dayton was a perfect 55-for-55 on service reception. The Patriots committed eight service reception errors on 66 attempts (.892).
- Freshman Ewelina Gacek provided another solid outing for the Patriots, finishing with seven kills, seven digs and two blocks.
- The Patriots' strongest set came in the second stanza, posting 16 total kills and only four attacking errors on 47 attempts (.255). Sophomore Katelyn Clarke provided a spark off the bench in the final two frames, and finished with six kills (.294).
