Patriots Cannot Prevail Against UMass

AMHERST, Mass. – The George Mason women's soccer team (3-7) fell to UMass (6-2-2) by a score of 2-0 on Thursday afternoon inside Rudd Field.
 
Possession of the ball was split evenly amongst the Patriots and the Minutewomen. UMass tallied two goals on 14 total shots (six on goal). Mason tallied 12 total shots (four on goal). Freshman goalkeeper Sarah Cuttler made her first career start for the Patriots, recording four saves.
 
Freshman Lea Spittka lead the offensive effort for the Patriots, tallying four shots in the match (one on goal), followed by senior Sara Chontosh who recorded three shots in the match. Junior Kaitlyn Butcher tallied two shots in the contest, one of which was on goal. Seniors Shannon Lee (on goal) and Emma Lee (on goal) and freshman Serena Spitz all tallied a shot in the match.
