FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University women's basketball team has unveiled its 2021-22 Atlantic 10 schedule, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Mason will play a home-and-home series against Revolutionary Rival George Washington as well as two games against St. Bonaventure and Saint Joseph's.
The Patriots will open conference play at UMass on New Year's Day (Jan. 1). Mason then returns to EagleBank Arena for its A-10 home opener against La Salle on January 4.
The Green & Gold will travel to Saint Joseph's on January 8 before hosting Fordham on January 12. From there, Mason will play at Rhode Island on January 15.
Next, the Patriots will welcome Richmond (Jan. 19) and St. Bonaventure (Jan. 23) to Fairfax for back-to-back home games.
After a January 26 game at Duquesne, Mason returns home to host George Washington on January 29.
Mason will hit the road to begin February with a pair of away contests at Davidson (Feb. 2) and Dayton (Feb. 5). The Flyers, the 2020-21 A-10 regular season champions, earned a berth in the WNIT last season.
The Patriots conclude conference play with three of five games at EagleBank Arena. Mason will host Saint Joseph's (Feb. 13) as well as VCU (Feb. 19) and Saint Louis (Feb. 23). VCU earned its first-ever A-10 Women's Basketball Championship a season ago, securing a berth to the NCAA Tournament.
Mason will play road contests against George Washington (Feb. 16) and St. Bonaventure (Feb. 26) during the final five-game stretch.
The 2022 A-10 Championship will be held March 2-6, 2022 with all 14 teams participating in a single-site format. The first round, second round and quarterfinal games will be available live on ESPN+, the Walt Disney Company's industry-leading sports streaming service. The semifinals will air on CBS Sports Network. ESPNU will air the A-10 championship final, marking the 25th straight year an ESPN network has televised the league's title game.
ESPN+ will continue to serve as the regular home for Mason Basketball. The remainder of Mason's television schedule will be announced at a later date.
