FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's soccer team returns home to face Wake Forest in a non-conference match on Monday, Sept. 20, with the opening kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Va.
Last time out, Mason (1-4-1, 0-1-0 A-10) dropped its Atlantic 10 opener to Saint Joseph's, 3-1, on Friday night at Sweeney Field in Philadelphia, Pa. Freshman forward
Balint Kocso scored his first collegiate goal, with freshman midfielder
Linus Dahl picking up his first career assist on the play.
When Mason faces Wake Forest on Monday, it will be just the fourth all-time meeting between the two schools and just the second visit to Fairfax by the Demon Deacons.
In the last meeting between the two clubs, Wake Forest defeated Mason, 2-1, on Sept. 16, 2003 at Spry Stadium in Winston Salem, N.C.

Mason played two games in August, is in the middle of seven matches in September, and will play seven games in October.
The eight-game Atlantic 10 schedule includes road contests against Saint Joseph's (Sept. 17,), Saint Louis (Sept. 25), Fordham (Oct. 9) and George Washington (Oct. 20). The Patriots will host St. Bonaventure (Oct. 6), VCU (Oct. 16), Davidson (Oct. 23) and La Salle (Oct. 30) in A-10 play.
Admission is free for all Patriots' men's soccer home games played at George Mason Stadium.
SCOUTING WAKE FOREST
Wake Forest has an overall record of 3-2-0, including a mark of 1-1-0 in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play. The Demon Deacons are 3-1-0 at home and 0-1-0 on the road.
Last time out, the Demon Deacons defeated No. 5 Pittsburgh, 3-1, on Saturday at Spry Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Senior forward Kyle Holcomb, sophomore defender Garrison Tubbs and sophomore midfielder Chase Oliver each scored, while freshman goalkeeper Trace Alphin made three saves in the win.
Holcomb leads the club in goals (3), points (8), and shots on goal (8). He is second on the team in assists (2) and shots (14). Chase is second on the team in goals (2) and points (5).
Sophomore goalkeeper Cole McNally (1-1-0, 0.74) has started three matches, while Alphin (2-1-0, 2.08) has started two games.

Elmar Bolowich led the North Carolina men's soccer program for 22 years. He was selected ACC Coach of the Year twice (2000, 2010) and led the Tar Heels to their first national championship in program history in 2001.
