FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's volleyball team was swept by Coppin State on Saturday night at the Recreation Athletic Complex.
Coppin State used a strong serve-receive to hand the Patriots their fifth straight loss. The Eagles tallied eight service aces and hit .308 in the match.
Mason was led by senior
Peyton Ehmke and freshman
Olyvia Kennedy. Ehmke tallied nine kills at a .353 clip while Kennedy notched nine kills at a .381 hitting percentage.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Sophomore Grace Kristofic and freshman BrookeLynn Sapp made their first start of the season. Kristofic dished out 28 assists while Sapp tallied four kills and six digs.
- Mason finished with a hitting percentage of .229 (32-10-96).
- The Patriots tallied nine service errors and just two services aces in the match.
- Junior Stephanie Der and freshman Morgan Nguyen steadied Mason's back row, posting a combined 16 digs.
- Mason outblocked Coppin State, six to two. Senior Katie Parmalee registered a team-high four blocks.
