Patriots Take on Radford on Sunday Night

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's soccer team (1-6) close their four game home stand on Sunday, September 12th, hosting Radford.
 
Kickoff between the Patriots and the Highlanders is set for 7 p.m. inside George Mason Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+. Fans can also follow the action via live stats.
 
This will be Mason's eighth game of the season. The Patriots are looking to continue their winning streak following their win on Thursday night against Air Force.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots' hard-fought effort on the offensive and defensive ends were enough to secure a win against the Air Force Falcons on Thursday (2-1).
 
Possession of the ball was split evenly amongst the Patriots and the Falcons. Air Force tallied one goal on six total shots (one on goal). Mason tallied two goals on seven total shots (five on goal).
 
Senior Kolbrún Eyjólfsdóttir  scored the first goal of the game for the Patriots off an assist from junior Grace Hotaling. This was Eyjólfsdóttir's third goal in three consecutive matches. After tallying an assist, Grace Hotaling scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Shannon Lee. Seniors Sara ChontoshKolbrún Eyjólfsdóttir, and Shannon Lee all recorded one shot in the match, all of which were on goal. Junior Grace Hotaling (two on goal) and freshman Brianna Bitz both tallied two shots in the match.

In the last 14 contests between the two programs, Mason has a 10-3-1 edge against the Highlanders.

SCOUTING RADFORD
The Highlanders have started their 2021 season holding a record of 5-0. Radford finished their 2020-21 with a 7-3-1 overall record, 6-2-1 record in the Big South.
 
Radford is led by Kat Parris, Brianna Oliver, and Lily McLane.  Parris has scored five goals this season, three of which were game winners. Parris leads the team with points, tallying 14 on the season. Oliver is second with total goals, recording four goals in the five matches played. McLane leads the team in assists, tallying five in the season. The Highlanders have recorded 100 shots in the their last five games.
