PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The George Mason women's soccer team (0-4) fell to Pennsylvania (1-0-1) by a score of 2-1 on Sunday night inside Rhodes Field.
Possession of the ball was split evenly amongst the Patriots and Quakers as both teams tallied nine shots and three saves in the match. Pennsylvania recorded five shots on goal during the contest. The Patriots defensive efforts strained the Quakers offense as Pennsylvania recorded nine offsides calls in the match.
The Patriots had a season high on the offensive end with shots and shots on goal. Senior
Dacheka Kolcum recorded three shots during the game, two of which were on goal. Seniors
Sara Chontosh and
Shannon Lee, sophomore
Katie Saunders, and freshmen
Brianna Bitz,
Lea Spittka, and
Halla Svansdóttir all recorded one shot each. Kolcum, the lone goal scorer for the Patriots, was assisted by
Shannon Lee.
