FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's soccer team (0-2) hosts No. 3 Virginia on Thursday, Aug. 26.

In their 2020-21 season, the Cavaliers earned an overall record of 14-4-3, including a postseason appearance in the ACC Tournament and NCAA Women's Soccer Championship.
 
Midfielder Lia Godfrey and forwards Haley Hopkins and Alexa Spaanstra have been named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch list for the fall, announced by the United Soccer Coaches. The award recognizes the national player of the year. This is the second time in the last three seasons where Virginia have had three players on the list.
 
Junior Diana Ordoñez leads the Cavaliers in goals (3) and points (6), including the lone goal scored in the match against West Virginia. Twelve players on the roster for Virginia have helped to record a total of 23 shots on goal for the season.
 
Senior keeper Laurel Ivory has made two starts in net for the Cavaliers so far this season. Ivory has three saves on the season, recording a 100% save percentage.
