FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's soccer team (0-1) continues the 2021 slate on Sunday, August 22, hosting Maryland for the Patriots home opener.
Kickoff between the Patriots and the Terrapins is set for 7 p.m. inside George Mason Stadium. The game will be broadcast on

This will be Mason's second game of the season. The Patriots are searching for their first win of the 2021 season, after dropping their first match of the season.
LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots' hard-fought effort on defense was not enough in the loss to the Delaware Blue Hens on Thursday (2-1).
Delaware controlled possession for the majority of the match, as the Blue Hen attack strained the Patriot defense throughout the contest. Delaware held the Patriots to only five shots in the match.

Louisa Moser faced a total of 14 shots (seven on goal) and recorded five saves in fulltime. Seniors

The last time Mason met Maryland was September 5, 2019, where the Terrapins topped the Patriots 3-0.
George Mason Head Coach
Manya Puppione served as an assistant coach of the Maryland program under Ray Leone from 2016-2018. Puppione also played for him while he was the head coach at Arizona State from 2002-06.
SCOUTING MARYLAND
The Terrapins finished their 2020-21 campaign with an overall record of 0-10-2, with a 0-9-2 record in conference play. They started the 2021 season off with a 1-0 start after defeating Temple on Thursday night.
Maryland is led by Alyssa Poarch, Mikayla Dayes, and Malikae Dayes who were all named players to watch by the Big Ten. Poarch and Mikayla Dayes are Maryland's top returning goal scorers, recording 12 and 11 goals (respectfully) in their careers with the Terrapins.
