Around The World With Mason Basketball

As European and Asian Basketball Leagues culminate their seasons across the globe, a number of former Mason men's basketball standouts are putting the finishing touches on outstanding international campaigns in 2020-21.
 
In his 13th professional season, Will Thomas ('08) continues to produce at a high level. The forward currently is competing in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with BC Zenit in Russia. Alongside former Gonzaga star Kevin Pangos, Thomas has excelled for his club, which, as the No. 8 seed, is locked in a heated battle with top-seeded FC Barcelona. Thomas has scored in double figures in three of the four playoff games against Pau Gasol, Kyle Kuric and the rest of Barca. On the year, he averaged 9.3 points and 4.9 rebounds in 38 EuroLeague contests.
 
Former All-A-10 guard Otis Livingston II ('19) has excelled in North Macedonia this winter en route to All-Balkan League honors with KK Kumanovo 2009. Livingston II averaged a team-best 18.9 points and 6.1 assists while shooting a sizzling 62.9 percent from the field and 44.8 percent from 3-point range. He is coming off a 26-point, 7-assist performance against Euro Nickel in April and has two remaining regular season games with KK Kumanovo 2009 before beginning prep for the playoffs.
 
Bryon Allen ('14) is now in his eighth professional season and Is competing for powerhouse Studenski Centar Podgorica in the Montenegrin Basketball League. Allen is averaging a team-high 4.8 assists to go along with 5.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game for his team, which boasts an impressive 18-1 record. Allen is shooting 50 percent for SGC alongside fellow American and former Wofford star Fletcher Magee. The ballclub has won quarterfinal and semifinal playoff series this season and is set to compete in the finals May 4-6.
 
Former Patriot forward Mike Morrison ('12) is enjoying an outstanding first season in Turkey while suiting up for Yalova Basket. Morrison ranks second on the team in scoring (12.9 ppg) and rebounding (6.9 rpg) while shooting an impressive 62.8 percent from the floor. Morrison is a big reason why Yalova Basket has recorded a strong 16-11 mark this season and sits in playoff position as the TBL Playoffs approach. Morrison plays for YB alongside former Cincinnati standout Yancy Gates to provide a bruising frontcourt for Yalova.
 
In Israel, Darryl Monroe ('09) continues to put up great numbers for Maccabi Rishon while leading the club to 11 wins in the Winners League. Monroe is averaging 12.5 points, ranks second on the team in rebounds (7.3 rpg) and is third in assists (3.8 apg). He is shooting 59.6 percent from the floor while playing alongside Americans, Jeremy Pargo (Gonzaga), Trey Lewis (Louisville), Jamil Wilson (Marquette) and Isaiah Taylor (Texas). He recently put together a season-best 21-point performance to go along with nine rebounds and seven assists against Hapoel Holon.
 
In Belgium, Jalen Jenkins ('17) is putting together a productive season for Imortal Club in Portugal, which put together a 20-6 regular season and has advanced to the league semifinals, beginning Wednesday. Jenkins is second on the team with 14.1 points per contest, pulls down a team-best 9.0 rebounds per game, dishes out 2.7 assists per contest and is shooting 56.8 percent from the floor.   
 
Former Patriot big man Shevon Thompson ('16) is in the German BBL this spring with Brose Bamberg, where he averaged 6.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and shot 61.1 percent from the floor in eight Basketball Champions League contests for the club. He Is playing alongside former Boise State star Christian Sengfelder and California's David Kravish. He also has contributed well during BB's German League games, including a recent 9-point performance versus Oldenburg.
