Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The George Mason University men's volleyball team is advancing to the EIVA Championship match for the first time since 2016 after defeating NJIT in three sets on Thursday afternoon at Rec Hall.

The Patriots' offense hit 40-16-89 (.270) on the day and held the Highlander offense to 38-20-99 (.182).

Mason will now move on to Saturday, where the third-seeded Patriots will take on No. 1 Penn State at 7 p.m. inside Rec Hall for the EIVA title.

"First, hats off to NJIT... I am very proud of our team," head coach Jay Hosack said. "It wasn't pretty volleyball but it was gutsy. Both teams had not played a match in three weeks and it showed. But, we refused to give up and executed at a high level. Win, lose or draw they just want to leave it all out on the court and have no regrets. I couldn't be more proud."
