No. 15 Patriots Fall to No. 8 Penn State Friday Night

FAIRFAX, Va. – The 15^th-ranked George Mason men's volleyball team (13-6, 10-5 EIVA) fell in straight sets to 8^th-ranked Penn State (19-25, 25-27, 16-25) on Friday night inside EagleBank Arena.

The Patriots had moments of momentum throughout the match but Penn State continued to execute on the offensive end to secure their 14 conference win of the season.

"I was not happy with our level of execution tonight," head coach Jay Hosack said. "When we stayed aggressive, we fed off that. We have to find a way to continue that through the entire match."

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Junior Richie Hoff led the Patriots with team-highs in kills (9) and digs (8).
Senior Hayden Wagner and freshman Jack Bolz each tallied 5 kills for the Green & Gold.
Senior Bradley Creamer led Mason with three blocks on the night.
Redshirt sophomore Zach Talamoa recorded 15 assists, six digs, a service ace and a block.
Freshman Chey Cooper notched his second career service ace.
Five first-year student-athletes got the starting nod again for Mason on Friday night.
Both teams earned 28 kills, Penn State hit .154 on the night, while the Patriots hit .056.
Penn State recorded nine service aces to the Patriots' three.
