The Patriots Fend Off the Red Flash in Five Sets

LORETTO, Pa.- The George Mason men's volleyball team (12-5, 9-4) defeated Saint Francis (Pa.) in five sets on Friday night.

The Patriots have now won five contests in a row, earning a 9-4 record in EIVA play.

"Super proud of my guys tonight," head coach Jay Hosack said. "Saint Francis was serving lights out and we had a tough night passing. But we hung on and battled the entire way. With that win we clinch third place in the conference playoffs and host the first round in Fairfax."

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Freshman Omar Hoyos led Mason with 12 kills.
  • Junior Richie Hoff recorded 11 kills in the victory.
  • Hoff also notched a team-high two service aces on Friday night.
  • Senior Luis Velez earned 27 assists in the win.
  • On defense, junior Trevor Kennan led the Patriot defense with 15 digs
