FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's soccer team (2-4-1, 2-1-1) earned two goals to defeat VCU on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Patriots now improve to 2-1-1 in Atlantic 10 play. Mason's attack continues to produce, as the Green & Gold have now scored six goals in their last four games.
 
"This was an excellent team win with solid contributions coming from every player on our roster," head coach Todd Bramble said postgame.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Junior Naja Ashman recorded her first collegiate goal, scoring off of a free kick opportunity in front of the net.
  • Kayla Hamric earned her second goal on the season.
  • Hamric's score was the senior's second consecutive game with a goal scored.
  • Freshman Katie Saunders earned her second assist in as many games for Mason.
  • Senior Shannon Lee and sophomore Grace Hotaling each recorded their first assist and point of the season.
  • Senior Louisa Moser faced 12 total shots (five on goal) on the day, tallying four saves.
  • The Rams outshot the Patriots 12-6.
  • Each team notched five shots on goal.
