RICHMOND, Va. – The George Mason men's soccer team played to its third straight draw, a 0-0 double-overtime result against VCU on Saturday afternoon at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond, Va.
Mason (0-3-3, 0-0-3 A-10) and VCU (2-1-2, 1-0-1 A-10) were scoreless after the first 45 minutes of play. The Patriots controlled much of the play and recorded seven of their 11 shot attempts in the first half.
The Rams nearly took the lead in the 34th minute, but freshman forward Elton Quintanilla's shot hit the crossbar.
The two teams played a defensive second half, with both clubs posting just one shot on goal. The Patriots had the lone shot on goal in overtime.

Kent Harrison led all players with four shots and he placed one on goal in 101 minutes. Freshman midfielder
Ishmail Kamara led all players with two shots on goal in the match in 90 minutes of action.

Mason freshman goalkeeper
Jackson Lee made three saves, including one in the second overtime, to post his second straight shutout. VCU senior goalkeeper Mario Sequeira made a season-high three saves in the match.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
The Patriots outshot the Rams, 11-5, while both clubs registered three shots on goal. VCU finished with four corner kicks, while Mason had three in the match. The Patriots have gone to double-overtime in each of their last four matches.

The Patriots return to action in a week when they face Davidson on Saturday, March 27, with the opening kick scheduled for 1 p.m. at George Mason Stadium.
