No. 14 Patriots Host Sunday Doubleheader

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's volleyball team (9-5, 6-4) will host a doubleheader against Sacred Heart on Sunday.

First serve for game one is set for noon ET inside EagleBank Arena. The doubleheader can be followed via live stats.

The Patriots currently rank 14^th in the NVA/AVCA Division I-II Top 15 poll and are sitting at third in the EIVA conference standings.

Senior Hayden Wagner currently leads the EIVA in killer per set (3.86) and fourth in total kills (143).

Patriot pair Trevor Kennan (94) and Sam Greenslade (85) are first and second in the conference in total digs. Blocking duo Brad Creamer (0.90) and Jack Reese (0.81) are fourth and fifth in the EIVA in blocks per set.

LAST TIME OUT
Mason snapped a four-game losing skid last weekend, sweeping Charleston (W.Va.) on the road.

The Patriots won the first contest in four sets (21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-21) and finished the series with a straight-set victory (25-21, 25-22, 25-22) on Saturday.

Wagner was named EIVA's Offensive Player of the Week after leading Mason with 30 kills, two assists, a pair of service aces, four digs and two solo blocks in seven sets over the weekend. It was Wagner's seventh career EIVA OPOTW selection.

A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS (0-10, 0-10 EIVA)
The Pioneers have had a tough 2021. Sacred Heart is currently on a 10-game losing streak, winning just three sets in that span (seven straight-set losses).

Outside hitter Mark Berry leads the Pioneers with 57 kills (2.28 kills per set) in 25 sets played.

On defense, Timothy McIntosh currently leads the EIVA in digs per set (2.48) and is ranked third in the conference in total digs (82).

HISTORY vs. SACRED HEART
The Patriots and Pioneers were scheduled to play earlier in the season, but the series was postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test result within the Tier 1 level of Sacred Heart's program.

The two programs have not played in over two years. The last time Mason and Sacred Heart met, the Patriots defeated the Pioneers in four sets (19-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-15) on March 2, 2019.

TICKETING INFO/HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS

Sunday is a single admission doubleheader. Tickets are $10 each and will be available through Ticketmaster beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 19.

250 fans will be permitted inside EagleBank Arena for the matches. The ability to host fans at these matches is based on current guidance from state and local health officials.

A limited number of students tickets will be available. Students should log into their George Mason Student Account Manager to claim a ticket. Please visit the student ticket page on GoMason.com for assistance if needed.

Before purchasing tickets, it is important to be aware of the health and safety protocols that will be in place at EagleBank Arena.

Physical Distancing

Fans must maintain a physical distance of at least 6' from others while in lines, on the concourse, or using the restroom.
Available seats will be sold in pods. While many pods are in 2, other sizes may be available. Each pod of seats is separated by the next closest pair by a minimum of six feet.

Assigned Seats

Seats are assigned in pods which are socially distanced throughout the arena.
It is imperative that you sit in your assigned seats to maintain a safe distance among all spectators.
The two seats nearest the aisle must remain empty to allow for distancing between sections as well as from those walking up and down the stairs.

Face Coverings

Face coverings are mandatory for everyone age 2 and older for the entirety of the game, including while seated in your assigned seat. Face coverings can be removed when actively eating or drinking.
The use of face coverings is not a substitute for physical distancing.
A PPE vending machine will be available in the Box Office lobby in the event you forget your face covering.

Self-Health Screening

Fans are encouraged to check their temperature and do a self-health screening. Fans who have a temperature of 100.4 or higher are asked to stay home.

Cleaning & Safety Procedures

EagleBank Arena has implemented increased and more comprehensive sanitizing measures before and after every event.
All employees will compete a health screening prior to entering the arena.
The HVAC system at EagleBank Arena has been recalibrated, with an increased frequency of filter replacement and increased daily operational run hours.
