FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's volleyball team will host Rhode Island at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Recreation Athletic Complex.
Saturday's match will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT
Mason dropped a road contest to Fordham, 3-1, to move to 3-4 in the Atlantic 10 East Regional Pod and 3-9 overall.
Juniors
Peyton Ehmke (16),
Katie Parmalee (16) and
Marlanna Bozicevich (13) combined for 45 of Mason's 57 kills. Ehmke had an efficient night of attacking, recording a season-best clip of .406 in the match.
Junior setter
Erin Derick dished out 48 assists and added 15 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. It marked the fifth time she's recorded 40-plus assists this season.
DIGGIN' THE DEFENSE
The Patriots recorded 114 digs against Fordham for the fourth-most digs in a single match in program history.
Four Patriots finished with double-digit digs –
Stephanie Der (24), Bozicevich (23),
Grace Kristofic (20) and Derick (15). Bozicevich leads the squad with 4.24 digs per set while Der adds 2.78 digs per set as the team's starting libero.
SCOUTING THE RAMS
Rhode Island sits at 3-7 overall and 2-3 in the Atlantic 10 East Regional Pod. The Rams recently fell to Fordham in straight sets on Wednesday (March 17).
Senior Claire Chaplinsky leads the Rams with 3.41 kills per set while contributing 2.73 digs per set on defense. Junior Ella Ratzloff ranks sixth in the league in digs per set with 4.35.
The Patriots are 2-12 all-time against the Rams. The two teams split a pair of meetings in February. Mason earned a five-set victory over Rhode Island on Feb. 13, before falling in straight sets the following day.

The RAC Gym will have a capacity of 30 spectators, limited to student-athlete and staff guests as well as Mason students. Tickets will not be available to the public.
