Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

FAIRFAX, Va.
– The No. 12 George Mason men's volleyball team (4-1,1-0) defeated Charleston (W.Va.) (0-1,0-1) in five sets (25-20, 25-15, 20-25, 22-25, 15-10) on Friday night inside the Recreation and Athletic Complex (RAC).

The Patriots took a commanding lead after the first two sets but when all the momentum seemed to be on the Green & Gold's side, the Golden Eagles fought their way back and forced a fifth set.

Ultimately, Mason would finish off Charleston (W.Va.) thanks to a Jack Reese kill to complete the grueling contest.

"Charleston did a nice job of taking us out of system in the third and fourth sets," head coach Jay Hosack said. "But, we found our blocking game again in the fifth set and took a commanding lead to hold them down the entire set."

Mason will host Charleston (W.Va.) again tomorrow (Saturday) night with first serve set for 7 p.m. ET inside the RAC.

"Tomorrow should be a fun dog fight and we look forward to that challenge," Hosack said Friday night after the victory.
